How do I choose a Talented, Experienced Florist?

Picking a talented & experienced florist in Calgary (or anywhere) requires a bit of research and consideration.  Here’s some advice on how to choose a great one:

Check Reviews & Ratings

1.    Look at Google Reviews and read customer feedback.

2.    Pay attention to flower quality, delivery reliability & customer service.

3.    High ratings (4+ stars) with consistent positive feedback indicate reliability.

4.    If you can, visit their shop.  Are the flowers fresh & blooming or are they wilting?

5.    Is the shop clean and organized?  A well maintained shop means they care about quality and your customer experience.

6.    Do they offer a good selection of flowers? Can they provide you with same-day delivery services?

7.    Get recommendations from family, friends or colleagues.

Review Their Website and Instagram Pages

1.    Does their style fit what you’re looking for?

2.    Do they specialize in specific events (only weddings) or do they offer everyday flower service?

3.    Give them a call – are they knowledgeable? Are they friendly?

4.    If you need something unique, do they offer tailor made orders?  This is a sure sign of a professional, confident & creative florist.

5.    Lastly, do their social media posts indicate they are approachable?  Do they have fun in their posts?

Check for Same-Day & Reliable Delivery

1.    Confirm same day delivery cut off times, they should be posted and easy to read. Same day delivery service should be their motto.

2.    Ensure they deliver to your recipient’s address.

3.    Make sure they provide delivery confirmation once your order has been delivered.

Compare Pricing & Value

1.    Prices should reflect quality & experience.  Avoid super inexpensive options that may compromise freshness or design.

2.    Is the florist you chose a real “brick & mortar” location?  Alternatively, are they an online call centre that takes a commission from your money prior to emailing the order to a real “brick & mortar” flower shop.

3.    Lastly and most importantly, make sure you are paying in Canadian dollars.  There are international companies who have websites that appear to be locally based flower shops.  However, your credit card could be charged in a foreign currency.
